ADVANCE RETREAT
As you know, last month we held our fourth annual ADVANCE Retreat in the beautiful downtown Portland, Oregon. Thank you to everyone who joined us this year. It was an incredibly productive gathering and a wonderful opportunity to come together to discuss the future of our network. We will be sure to keep our partners posted on any developments as we move forward with next steps that came out of the retreat.
GRAND ROUNDS
We kicked off our 4th Grand Rounds season last month with Dr. Jeffrey Robinson, Chair of the Department of Communication at Portland State University. Dr. Robinson presented on communication strategies to improve childhood vaccination rates. To watch a recording of the event, please click here.
Last week, we hosted Dr. Laura Gottlieb of University of California, San Francisco’s Social Interventions Research and Evaluation Network (SIREN) for her presentation titled “What the Health Care Sector Can Do About Social Conditions.” If you would like to receive an email once the recording is made available, please email William Pinnock at pinnockw@ochin.org.
Grand Rounds will resume in January with a special presentation in honor of Cervical Cancer Awareness Month. Save the date for January 10th, 2020 from 12-1 PM PST as University of Miami Health System – HCN’s Dr. Erin Kobetz, and Dr. Jennifer Potter of Fenway Health present, HPV Screening in Special Populations.Invitations will be sent out in the next few weeks. UPDATE ADVANCE SHORT GUIDE, DATA DICTIONARY, AND SUPPLEMENTALTABLES

Q4 PROGRESS REPORT
Our ADVANCE Team produced and submitted the Q4 progress report to the Central Office back in October. The report outlined key accomplishments and progress of activities that occurred during the Q4 reporting period including governance and reporting, engagement work, data, and more. Thank you to the ADVANCE Project Manager, Fran Ritchie, for coordinating the Q4 reporting efforts.
PCORI ANNUAL MEETING PRESENTATION
In September, Mary Frances Ritchie, Rebecca Block, Jon Puro, and Anna Templeton presented a poster at this year’s PCORI Annual Meeting. The poster looked at how research networks develop engagement models based on stakeholder input and how our engagement model has adapted to our network’s growth. The poster was well received by various stakeholders, including former PEP members, PCRF leadership and fellow CRN collaborators. Key learnings from the 2019 PCORI Annual Meeting will be considered in 2020 ADVANCE and PEP planning.
