Welcome to June, everyone! It’s almost summer here in the Rose City, and we’re right in the midst of the annual Portland Rose Festival. That means it’s now cool and rainy, but we’re looking forward to warmer weather once the Rose Festival is over and summer approaches.
In May we were visited by Kathy Hudson and Michelle Culp of the People-Centered Research Foundation for an all-day site visit. In this visit we discussed many topics centered around research, engagement, data, and operations. It was a full day with many participants, including representatives from all our partner organizations, investigators, associates, analysts, and others. Our team did an amazing job putting the day together in a very short amount of time. The meeting went very well, I think. Now we’re looking forward to the move toward PCORnet 2.0 and joining PCRF in the near future.
We are greatly looking forward to coming together to discuss this next phase of ADVANCE at our upcoming retreat. Preparations are underway for our year three ADVANCE retreat, which will be held on Monday, August 13 and Tuesday, August 14th.
May also treated us to a wonderful Grand Rounds presentation by Dr. Rachel Gold and Aldreen Venzon, MS, BSN, RN titled: “PRAPARE” Yourself: The Evolution of Social Determinants of Health Collection in the EHR. You can view the presentation here.
This month we are excited to host Dr. Gary Bennett of Duke University as he presents: Digital Obesity Treatment Among Medically Vulnerable Patients. You are welcome to join us for this exciting online event on Friday, June 15th from 12:00 – 1:00 PM PT. If you are interested in registering for the event, please email us at grandrounds@ochin.org.
Finally, we are excited to have Tiffany Prescott join Nikki Stover in leading our Patient Engagement Panel as the PEP Co-Coordinators. Tiffany has been involved with ADVANCE as part of the dissemination team, and is eager to extend her involvement to include engagement.
Thank you all for your continued involvement and support of ADVANCE. We look forward to another busy month ahead and sharing more in July!
